You are the volunteer coordinator for a community heritage project that is documenting the history of a local market district. The project was due to deliver its final report to the town council's heritage committee by the end of this month. However, a key local historian who was going to provide oral history interviews has been unwell and unavailable for the past three weeks, and the audio recordings cannot be completed without her. You need to write to the chair of the heritage committee, Dr. Miriam Okonkwo, to explain the situation and ask for more time. You have not yet informed the committee of this delay. The committee has already scheduled a public presentation of the report for six weeks from now, and you are aware that postponing that event would be inconvenient for everyone involved.
Write an email to Dr. Miriam Okonkwo, Chair of the Town Council Heritage Committee. In your email, do the following:
- Explain why the report cannot be completed by the original deadline, giving the specific reason.
- Ask for a specific extension and propose how the project could still meet the public presentation date.
